ANNOUNCING: XANH VIET STREET FOOD POP UP DINNER SERIES with Chef Anh Luu!

Born and raised in New Orleans by Vietnamese immigrant parents, Chef Anh Luu specializes in cooking Viet-Cajun cuisine. After being displaced by Hurricane Katrina in 2005, Anh Luu and her family moved to Portland, OR where Chef Anh established her career as the owner and chef at Tapalaya, a vibrant Viet-Cajun bistro located on the bustling NE 28th Ave (open 2008-2019). She earned notoriety by appearing on Food Network's Chopped and Grill Dads, "Portland Cooks" Cookbook, and even went viral with her Phorrito pop ups.

Chef Anh moved back to New Orleans in 2020 and as of March 2023, Chef Anh launched her Vietnamese street food pop-up, Xanh; which means “green” in Vietnamese, an ode to all the fresh herbs and greens used in the cuisine.

WE ARE SO STOKED to have the true honor of welcoming Chef Anh back to PDX to share her culinary creations. Join us in celebrating the approaching summer solstice with a pop up experience happening only here at Ps & Qs. There are seatings available starting at 6pm on the patio or inside.

ANNOUNCING THE NEXT INSTALLMENT OF OUR DINNER SERIES - CELEBRATING WOMEN

We are very excited to welcome Chef Risa Lichtman of Lepage Food & Drinks into our kitchen to head up our first dinner in March, when we celebrate Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day. 

Risa Lichtman is the chef & owner of Lepage Food & Drinks. You can find her seasonal food popping up at restaurants and farms throughout the Portland area, or through her weekly rotating menus which she offers for pickup and delivery.
She makes ingredient-driven comfort food, blending Middle Eastern flavors with the bounty of the PNW. She’s highly influenced by her Jewish-American heritage, and loves to share her favorite Jewish food with her community.
She has cooked in restaurants throughout Portland, San Francisco & New York for over a decade, including Pizzeria Delfina, Blue Hill at Stone Barns, Sweedeedee, Handsome Pizza, and Beetroot Market.
She believes in using food as a means for activism, participating in mutual aid, and community building. Risa is the lead organizer of the Portland chapter of Queer Soup Night, which gathers Queer community and allies over food-centered events and raises funds for local grassroots organizations.
When not cooking, she spends her time gardening, sewing and crafting, and getting into mischief with her wife, dogs, and cat.


This five course dinner will be offered on Thursday March 9th, with seatings from 6:00pm to 8:15pm, indoor or outdoors on our heated & covered patio.

$60 per person, with gluten-free, vegetarian and dairy-free accommodations available. 

The drink list will be filled with women-made wines and women-made cocktail recipes featuring women-made spirits! (Available at additional cost)

This event is intended to give you access to some really high-quality, responsibly raised, and sourced meat and seafood. Additionally, we want to do our part to bring you closer to the hard-working folks who make these high-quality foods a reality. 

Take a look at our friends below and consider doing a pre-order. All of these partners offer CSA-style options, so perhaps this is a great time to try signing up for the year. Or, just show up, get a few things to stock your freezer, and get to know them a little better. 

We will be serving up some seasonal hot snacks along with a craft cocktail as well as the musical styling of wildly talented Mama Sam & the Jam. Weather permitting, we will have some fires going for you to gather around and get to know some of the Love, Oregon team and our growing community. 

And we are so happy to host this event with our good friends from  P’s & Q’s Market. They are doing some wonderful things and continuing to build a phenomenal list of local farmers and vendors. So, don’t miss a chance to check out the restaurant and market.
